Kanye West debuted his new Yeezy line today at New York Fashion Week and it was…interesting. The outspoken artist filled the house for his last-minute show, with wife Kim and daughter North looking on alongside some of the biggest names in fashion.
All the celebrities flocked to the Yeezy Season 2 launch: Drake and Lorde were there.
2 Chainz hung out with the Kardashians.
And of course Anna Wintour pretended that seeing a baby at a fashion show was acceptable.
But even with all the celebrity support, we couldn’t get past one big thing. The clothing is hella depressing.
Like, what is this?
We weren’t the only ones to take notice. The internet responded and it was not by rushing to the store to buy tan pantyhose and wrap themselves in it.
Some saw Beavis.
Some saw walkers.
Others saw Anakin.
“Slave wear” is also a term that’s been popping up on social media.
We also think West may have drawn inspiration from watching the residents of District 12 in The Hunger Games.
And The Boy In The Striped Pajamas.
And Jared Leto in The Dallas Buyers Club.
But we know for sure that he saw Mad Max: Fury Road.
Maybe we just don’t get fashion and that’s okay. We’ll just sit over here with Jay until we “get it”.
